This Sunday we were joined by Sharon Shek, who works for the Hong Kong Response Project of the Baptist Union. Sharing from the story of the four people who lowered their paralysed friend through the roof to be healed by Jesus, Sharon explored how amazing love calls us to challenge conventions, look beyond the 'bottom line' and open our hearts with compassion and hospitality.

As we continue our journey into the various ingredients of our prayer lives, Jamie looks at the ‘how’, ‘what’ and ‘why’ of asking God for things. It’s a big and mysterious subject but we are clearly invited to make our requests, while also submitting to God’s bigger picture: ‘Not my will, but yours…’

'Confession' may bring up really negative ideas of self loathing and shame, but really it is a wonderful antidote to those things. Jamie explores how Confession is a dynamic and essential part of our prayer lives and spiritual wellbeing - connecting us to God's extravagant grace, opening the door to hope, and reminding us of the 'better' that God has for us!

'Confession' may bring up really negative ideas of self loathing and shame, but really it is a wonderful antidote to those things. Jamie explores how Confession is a dynamic and essential part of our prayer lives and spiritual wellbeing - connecting us to God's extravagant grace, opening the door to hope, and reminding us of the 'better' that God has for us!

Continuing our prayer series, Nick considers the theme of repentance. He acknowledges the difficulties of this element, suggesting that we have often misunderstood it. Instead of wrapping repentance up in guilt and shame, we are reminded that it is a wonderful opportunity to realign ourselves with Christ and his ways!
