Joy is a gift for all of us but it is a gift that is frequently taken or snatched away. Alister looks at the version of Joy that God has for us, investigates the various ways that Joy can be taken and suggests how we can gain access to a deeper and more consistent Joy.

Family Matters

Whilst our individual family experiences conjure up mixed feelings, our society places great emphasis on the importance of the family nucleus. In this talk, Nick reflects on the key passages in which Jesus talks about family and the context around them. Through this lens we're reminded of how Jesus calls us to form our identity around him. He came to liberate us from any societal norm that may be holding us back, whilst also calling us to honour those from whom our past identities were formed.

Wish You Were Here

In this final message of the series, Jamie sums up the journey so far and unpacks the spiritual process of discerning a vision. He draws upon the biblical story of Jacob's dream to remind us that God can often be powerfully present in the most unpromising of circumstances, and that by paying more careful attention, we may be surprised and delighted by what we discover.

(We Can Be) Heroes

Is everything random and meaningless as some would assert, or do our lives have purpose and direction? What role are we playing in the stories of our lives... because we can be heroes! In this talk Jamie explores how living with purpose is central to the being a healthy, flourishing human being and what the Bible has to say about this.

Adventure of a Lifetime

This Sunday we looked at 'mission' - the 'adventure of a lifetime'! Every Jesus follower is called to life a life that puts on display and shares his good news, but sometimes that can seem very intimidating. Also, the idea of mission has possibly attracted some unhelpful preconceptions for our context. Jamie looks at Acts 1 to try to draw out some helpful pointers.
