As we seek to be 'Born From Above', we must give attention to the way that we order our lives: What do we prioritise? Every human is a worth-shipper... A worshipper! The only question is, what do we give the highest worth to? The story of the temptation of Jesus points to some of the lesser things that can dominate our worldview; It also illustrates the competing views about power, and reiterates that ultimate power is expressed in servant-hearted Love.

This week Nick transitions into the second part of our series…supremacy! This word has many negative connotations to it, however, we are reminded that God is the true supreme leader of our lives, and the challenge is for us to keep putting him first. Christ reveals that servant hood is an essential part of leadership, and that we too are called to be ‘born from above’ in serving others!

As our series continues (with a small but significant name change!) we explore what it means to be 'Born From Above' - the Spiritual rebirth that Jesus says is so vital to us. Jamie takes us back to the prologue of John's Gospel and the assertion that Jesus is 'the Word'. This simple phrase already had a rich history in Greek and Jewish thought before John ever used it, and points us towards a profound and life-changing Truth... if our 'spiritual eyes' are open enough to make use of it!

Starting our new series looking at the idea of being 'born again' or 'born from above', Jamie looks at the passage in which it is found in John 3, and tries to understand it in the context of the wider Gospel. This is the starting point for an epic journey we'll be taking over the next few weeks, exploring this promise of new beginnings, new life, and new consciousness that is vital to the flourishing of every human being.

This week Stuart explored the first half of Acts 9, which tells us how the apostle Paul began his new life as a Christian believer. Once again we considered the trajectory, the direction in which scripture is moving as the offer of salvation becomes even broader and more inclusive.

Continuing our journey through Acts, we look at Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian Eunuch. Jamie used this story as an example of the ‘trajectories’ that we find in scripture, which may challenge our preconceptions of what the Bible is, how it works, and how it should be used.
