The Way pt10: The Way to Azotus
Tuesday Jun 23, 2020
Tuesday Jun 23, 2020
The story of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch is one that begins by highlighting the exclusion of those who are different by the religious authorities, and ends with the jubilation of those on the margins being fully welcomed into God's Kingdom. Through this story, Nick considers the barriers preventing many people from feeling fully welcomed into our churches, and the need to learn how to better communicate the Good News to all people.

Sunday Jun 07, 2020
Sunday Jun 07, 2020
In many ways Jacob's dream at Bethel marks the beginning of his transformation, from a fleeing deceiver to the father of a nation. Jamie looks at the idea of 'the quest' as a metaphor for how we approach our lives, and take hold of the purposes that God has created us for and called us to.

On this Pentecost Sunday Jamie looks at the battle fought by the Israelites during the Exodus at Rephidim, and asks what this reveals about their evolving relationship with God. He suggests that this story has much to teach us about the way God partners with his children to act in the world.

The Way pt6: The Way of Generosity
Tuesday May 26, 2020
Tuesday May 26, 2020
Retired Baptist minister Richard Starling continues this series with 'The Way of Generosity.' If there are any positives to come out of the current 'lockdown' situation, surely one of them is the way that people have been moved in compassion and generosity towards one another. This impulse points to something deeply true about what it means to be fully a human being, made in the image of God. Generosity is key to understanding the heart of God and to unlocking an authentic and life-giving response to Him.

Monday May 11, 2020
Monday May 11, 2020
Throughout the Bible there is a message of hope to the poor, the outsiders, the marginalised and the despised. Yet we can still find ourselves pushing certain characters and stories to one side, or regarding them with negativity. Jamie explores how one such story can challenge our innate tribalism, and encourages to recover these wonderful biblical narratives afresh, with creativity and hope-filled imagination.

The Way pt2: The Way to Moriah
Monday Apr 27, 2020
Monday Apr 27, 2020
In this talk, Jamie explores the famous journey of Abraham and Isaac to Moriah, where God has apparently told Abraham to sacrifice his son. This story can be intensely troubling and raises many questions - not least of which are about how we read our Bible and how we should interpret it. Jamie makes a case that a truly faithful reading of scripture puts Christ at the very centre.

The Way pt1: The Way to Emmaus
Sunday Apr 19, 2020
Sunday Apr 19, 2020
This is the first of a new series looking at how some biblical journeys speak to our journeys... and how God meets us along the way. In a famous post Resurrection scene, Jesus meets two disciples on the way to Emmaus. What does this encounter have to teach us about times of defeat, dismantling our categories, following Jesus with 'head, hands and heart' and recognising him in the glimpses?
