In our Easter service we contemplate the joy and mystery of the Crucifixion and Resurrection, death transformed into Life! This is the Story we Live By: the great narrative that both gives us life and also guides and shapes that living. Jamie reflects on some traditions around Holy Saturday as that 'liminal space' between the Cross and the Empty Tomb, as a means of recalibrating our awareness and wonder of God's unfathomable Love and Grace.

Concluding our series looking at prayer and the spiritual life of disciples, Jamie shares some thoughts about 'Listening' for the voice of God. As Christians, our spiritual life is not an isolated 'inwardness' but a conversation with the Being at the centre of all Being... God Himself! God is speaking, and we would do well to listen! But Scripture suggests that God speaks in various ways at different times: We would be wise to avoid assumptions and approach with openness, humility and diligence.

The Parable of the Talents can sometimes be viewed as a 'stick to beat ourselves with' - the injunction to try harder and produce more for a God who comes across more like a harsh boss! Instead Patrick encourages us to see how the at the heart of this story is an invitation to Joy: The opportunity to partner with God in the healing of the world and find the wholeness that we seek for our lives.
