We’re All In This Together (Nick Drury, 8th January 2023)
Tuesday Jan 10, 2023
Tuesday Jan 10, 2023
In his final sermon as a minister at The Shore, Nick considers some very well known verses from Jeremiah 19. We explore the value of experiencing times of transition, and also how God’s ‘plans’ for us are better translated as ‘new ideas’ and ‘hopes’ - empowering us to take more ownership of our journeys whilst knowing God will be with us every step of the way.

Building Bricks, Living Stories (Richard Starling, 1st January 2023)
Tuesday Jan 03, 2023
Tuesday Jan 03, 2023
At the turning of the year, we look back and forwards. Using the "brisks without straw" that the Israelites had to make, and contrasting the "Living Stones" of the New Testament, we decide whether we build rigid monuments to Death- or be part of the adaptable and life-affirming Kingdom of God. From the Old to the New...

Another Road (Jamie Fredricks, 18th December 2022)
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
Tuesday Dec 20, 2022
This series began with the invitation to ‘lift up our eyes’ and seek ‘the highest’ - to ‘Follow the Star’ as the Magi did in the Nativity story. As Jamie continues to unpack this theme, we consider that this will always involve some hard choices: a turning away from ‘lower’ or ‘darker’ paths which can be incredibly tempting or easy to be drawn into. Jamie links this to Jesus’ description of the ‘Wide and Narrow Gates’ in Matthew 7, which follow directly on from his exhortation to ‘Ask… Seek… and Knock’.

Get a Move On! (Nick Drury, 11th December 2022)
Monday Dec 12, 2022
Monday Dec 12, 2022
Continuing our Christmas series ‘Follow the Star’, Nick reflects on the theme of ‘following’ in light of the journey of the Magi. We consider how society’s and Christianity’s understanding of following needs re-evaluating, and that to follow Jesus requires real action!

Lift Up Your Eyes (Jamie Fredricks, 4th December 2022)
Tuesday Dec 06, 2022
Tuesday Dec 06, 2022
Jamie begins our new series for the Christmas season, which looks at the 'wise men, the Magi. Even though they came from a background and culture that was far outside the norm for Israel, they were earnestly searching for God... And were a surprising inclusion in the Jesus story (a taste of things to come!). Jamie uses this as a spur to our 'evangelistic imagination' to think about how we can encourage one another to discover God 'through' Christmas...
