Jesus' encounter with the Canaanite woman is a strange story that raises all sorts of questions, maybe even uncomfortable questions or feelings. Jamie suggests that this is an essential part of what Scripture is and how it works: In the humanity of Scripture and the humanity of Jesus, we find hope and cause for faith in the midst of our own humanity.
